Google Adsense referrals: weird earnings - New payment model
February 2nd, 2007 by Stefan JuhlI just logged in to check my Adsense stats and I was surprised when I noticed that I had 2 conversions for Google Adsense. But I was even more surprised to see that I only got paid $10 for them ($5 each). That’s very weird to me since as far as I know it is - and always have been - $100 for an Adsense referral conversion.

I sent an email to adsense support to hear what’s going on. I also went to the Adsense support forum to check if somebody other than me might have had the same happen to them. And it seems like it: here and here.
I wonder what’s going on but I’m still awaiting the answer from Adsense support. Does anybody else see something like this?
Update: I got an email back from the adsense support team. They have changed the referral payments as you can read from the email I got from them (freely translated by me from Danish to English):
Thank you for the email. I’m happy to say that we’ve now changed the payment model for referrals so you’ll earn more from now on. You’ll, as it has happened, get $5 when a user you’ve signed up earns $5. When the user has earned $100 and complies with the general terms of service for referrals you’ll get additionally $250 on top of the $5 - total $255. This is brand new and we’re right now updating our help center with this information.

Die Antwort: Thank you for the email. […] […]
