Black Hat SEO Blog Ranks for ‘buy viagra’ the White Hat Way

March 8th, 2007 by Stefan Juhl

It seems like the linkbaiting efforts of Quadszilla has finally made his black hat SEO blog become rather trusted in the eyes of Google.

Buy viagra Google SERP March 8th, 2007A little more than a week ago Quadszilla published a regular post titled ‘buy viagra‘ on the seoblackhat.com blog - which as far as I know isn’t utilizing black hat tactics. The post is about Google.com ranking in the top10 on Yahoo for ‘buy viagra’. Today that blog post ranks in the top10 on Google for ‘buy viagra’ (full size screenshot) when I search from my computer…

Yes, I have turned off personalized results and I’ve checked from various proxies. It shows up no matter the scenario. I’ve also checked the backlinks of the post and there’s nothing of major significance to see. Just a bunch of scraper sites and a few regular links.

All in all the quick conclusion must be that white hat SEO and linkbaiting really makes your site rank when done the right way! Black hat SEO is just easier ;-)

I don’t see this as Black Hat.. it’s just smart posting.. and the post is still on his frontpage. Nice find by the way.

    Yeah, well - I’m still waiting :-D

I saw that post to, and I was sure that it was going to rank pretty good on ‘buy viagra’… But it takes time :-( So Black Hat IS easier ;-)

rxbbx, I don’t consider it black hat either - not even borderline grey hat.

Unfortunately the post has dropped quite a bit in rankings by now but it was a good example of white hat stuff ranking well compared to the usual parasite SEO that dominates the SERPs.

Black hat SEO is just easier because it takes far less effort to link dump to parasite SEO than to create enough linkbait to obtain the desired trust and thereby rankings. ;-)
